A space for exploring models of mind from therapy and applying them in your everyday life.
the EMPTY CHAIR Online offers discussion groups, study groups and online courses to apply models of mind from different schools of psychotherapy to your personal or professional lives.
The discussion groups are based on topics or themes that you choose by joining our Facebook group here. The study groups are based on a book, text or research for a key figure that members suggest or show an interest in. You can do this through the Facebook group. If you do not use social media, you can request to join the discussion group or a study group by sending me a message on the contact form once you have seen it listed here.
The Online Courses project is aimed at helping people to use ideas from therapy to better understand themselves and others – whether in relationships, work, leadership, or personal growth. The basic premise is that models of mind in different therapy schools can be simplified so that everyone can use them in their personal or professional lives. This applies to individuals, psychology professionals who have not worked with different schools of therapy, or leaders in business, education or group and community settings.
The three main classifications of psychotherapy are: humanistic, psychoanalytic and transpersonal. There will be modules on two key figures in the first two classifications (Carl Rogers, Eric Berne – humanistic; Sigmund Freud, Carl Jung – psychoanalytic), and one module on the last (Roberto Assagioli/Psychosynthesis – transpersonal). Each module will have several lessons which comprise of recorded videos and workbooks tailored for either individuals, psychology professionals or leaders. The real power of the courses lies on which workbook you choose to deepen the impact of learning to your specific context. An online webinar will explain all five modules closer to the launch date.
